The Verdon gorges, the lake of Sainte Croix, Moustiers-Sainte Marie (1h30 min away)
The Verdon Gorges, often nicknamed the “Grand Canyon of Verdon,” are formed by the Verdon River, which has carved a deep canyon through the limestone hills. In the heart of the Verdon Gorges, Lake Sainte-Croix was created by the construction of the Sainte-Croix Dam. The calm waters of the lake contrast with the tumultuous river in the gorges and provide an idyllic setting for various water activities such as swimming, kayaking, and paddle boating.
If you want to go swimming, we recommend the village of Bauduen, which provides a clean and secure beach – ideal for children !
The Verdon Gorges are lined with picturesque villages such as Aiguines and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. These perched villages offer a charming atmosphere, cobbled streets, local craft shops, and restaurants where visitors can savour Provencal cuisine.
